Not much to say...Simplify!

You know I was thinking about something to write about today and have come to the conclusion...I just don't have much to say today.  I am looking forward to our shop open house and the holidays.  I am happy to be able to relax and enjoy good friends.  This also includes some family members...hahaha!
Anyway, I hope that each of you will take some time during the holidays and just enjoy those you love!  Don't get caught up in all of the activity.
After all...isn't that what the season should be about?
Simplify...!

Another Day...

I am continually amazed at how much simpler things could be if we would only follow good Biblical advice and look at each day one day at a time. "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." You can't change yesterday and you can't do anything about tomorrow because you don't know what tomorrow will bring. We try to solve the problems that haven't even arrived yet and figure everything out today. I have been through a few things in my life and I have found that no matter how big or small the problem, if we just deal with the issues in front of us today, somehow tomorrow seems to take care of itself and we amazingly survive to deal with things "Another Day!"

Don't Worry...! Be Happy...!
...and Have a Really Great Day!

...just say a little prayer for the rest!

As I was thinking about what to write, I began to think about how greatly blessed I have been with the simple pleasures of life.
Simple pleasures of faith, family, and friends. You know, when it gets down to basics we seem to have lost sight of those 3 simple pleasures and taken them for granted. Seems like many people have filled their lives with things you can buy and base happiness on what they have. I guess I have seen enough in my life to know that what we have bought can be quickly gone, but the love we share is always there.
So, with that thought, I guess we just need to take the time to appreciate those around us who really care and, well, ...just say a little prayer for the rest!
Have a great day!

Going Back In Time

Vicki and I had the chance to go back in time for a while this past weekend.
NO....I haven't lost my mind... hahaha! We visited the Museum of Appalachia in Clinton, Tn.
If anyone has any interest in history or the early primitive lifestyle...this is a MUST SEE. If you are traveling down I-75 and go past Clinton, Tn. slow down your hurried pace and stop to see this wonderful place. You will be amazed at what they have put together on this primitive farm. The log cabins and barns are amazing. I could move in to any one of them. :0)
Anyway...we were blessed to be able to slow down and go back in time for a few hours to view close up how life was lived...and you know...it was probably of better quality with people focused on things which were really important instead of all the "things" which fill our lives today.
Check it out...

Hope you find it as much a blessing as we did to enjoy it...!

Passing time...

Once again we are reminded that time passes by so quietly and quickly that we don't realize where it has gone. We have ended this week celebrating the 20th birthday of our Silver Persian cat. Our pets truly become part of the family and part of our daily routines. We are very blessed to have had such a wonderful pet for so many years and appreciate each day we get to share with her. I guess it's true.....Cats Rule...! LOL

Have a Wonderful Weekend...!

Encourage someone today...

Wow...I can't believe it's been so long since I have been on here. We have been able to get away for a short break and enjoyed meeting new friends at an antique show in Kentucky. For this I am very thankful...!!
As we meet and talk with people it seems as though there are too many wonderful people struggling with problems in their life with no one to encourage them. What a shame...!!!
They are battling normal stresses of life, or have an illness, or maybe issues within their families. It makes me realize how blest we really are.
Trust me, it isn't all paradise in our world either, but we have realized that you don't have to look very far to find others in need. I am more convinced than ever before that we need some "old time" people that know how to pray and am fully convinced that "real" faith seems to be lacking in today's society. We need people to stand up and be positive and encourage one another.
I am so thankful for parents that taught me that GOD IS REAL and that He will answer prayer. My prayer today is that God will make His presence known in the lives of all our wonderful friends and family. Whatever your issues are, I pray that God will move for you today. I wish that each person who reads this would decide that they are going to make it a priority to try and encourage someone else along the way. Who knows what blessings might begin to fall on all of us!
Love to all our wonderful friends and family and may God really bless each of you....!

I need a toy...

OK...I'm back here again and just had to take the time to show off the toy store we found recently while in Ohio. Anyone who knows me is aware that I usually have a toy and right now have none. What a shame...so...while riding down the road we passed this shop in a small town and my sweet wife said turn around and go back if you want to. Soooooo....we turned around and went back. What a great shop with cool classic cars. All the toys a guy could want...but I only need one...which one should I choose? Gosh...you all need to check out this shop and make suggestions...hahaha...

Well...guess it doesn't hurt to wish...

Check out this site and have a really great weekend...!!!!

Quick Note

Gosh..it seems like forever since I have been on here to post anything. I guess I am still waaaayyyy too busy... but I am trying hard to follow my own advice to slow down and enjoy life.
I am looking forward to developing my picturetrail site www.picturetrail.com/oldwooddesk .
The plan is to put a lot of fun stuff there for everyone to enjoy. Hopefully it will help you relax, recall some fond memories, and yes, perhaps, even be blessed.

I hope you all are having a really great week and will have a wonderful and blessed weekend!
Get out and enjoy the beauty of all that God has created!

I wanted to post a quick note to let you know that there will be... more to come...

Movie Night

OK..this is not intended to be a movie review...but I am saying that my sweet little wife and I had a great movie night last night watching this movie, "The Blind Side." It was really nice to sit back on the couch with a bowl of popcorn...lots of butter, of course...and just have something to watch that was positive and entertaining. Take the time out of your busy and stressed filled life to just relax and enjoy life with someone you care about. Push all of the negative stuff out of your mind and forget about all of the stuff you have to do. Trust me...it WILL be there waitin on you tomorrow. Anyway...find time to see some of the sights along your path and enjoy them with those you care about while you can. We never know about tomorrow so enjoy your life TODAY.

Have a really great week!

Beautiful Day...

Gosh...what a beautiful day today in southern Indiana...! A simple thing to be thankful for but I am very thankful nonetheless.
I enjoyed being outside working on the cabin for my sweet wife...!
I met some really nice people in the antique shop...!
I am spending the evening just relaxing and enjoying having a weekend to ourselves.
I think it helps to slow down and just look around us to see how blessed we are...
...then take the time to thank the One from whom all blessings flow...!
Have a great weekend....!

Take in the good...

OK...my guess is that there are others out there like me who are sick of listening to the news broadcast and all of the things that "someone" has decided to be news worthy.

My question is this, Who decided all of that negative garbage is news...?

I really am not interested in hearing about who killed whom, or what politician or sports person is cheating on their spouse this week. Aren't there people out there doing good things to help their neighbor and being a real friend to someone?

It isn't any wonder that so many people are depressed these days and can't seem to find happiness. I would suggest that at least part of the problem might be all of the garbage that we are bombarded with through the media, news broadcasts, and even our music. Now we even have to take it with us on our phones. Oh, I better not get started on phones....that is a topic for another day. Anyway...all of that to say this...

I believe you will have a better week if you block out the junk and just "take in the good."

Have a great week!

Just an old barn...

There is just something about an old barn...
An old barn like this gives me a warm feeling of nostalgia. It doesn't have to be big or shiny and new. It may even be a little run down.
It brings memories of a simpler time when people were moving slow enough to actually see what was alongside the road. I'm afraid in today's run, run lifestyle, many people not only don't see what's alongside the road, but they don't care what's there, or what they might be missing.
Very sad that we've become so busy we can't take the time to enjoy the beauty of what is around us. Make it a point to enjoy the beautiful things around you today because they could be gone tomorrow. It may be people, it may be God's creation, or it may just be an old barn alongside the road!

Another week has come and gone...

The clock keeps ticking at the same speed, but gosh it seems to go much faster the older you get.

Where does the time go...? Seems like there isn't ever enough of it to go around for all the things there are to be done. Not enough time for work, not enough time for play, not enough time for friends and family....!

Whew...makes me tired just thinking about it...!

You know...I think we just need to slow ourselves down...it's not time that's going faster...we are!

Make time for what's MOST important and don't worry so much.

Have a GREAT week....!

A little humor...

FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY
In Florida , an atheist created a case against the upcoming Easter
and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a
discrimination case against Christians and Jews and observances
of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists
had no such recognized days.

The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate
presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring,
"Case dismissed!"

The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, "Your
honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have
Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur
and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays.."

The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do.. Your
client, counsel,is woefully ignorant."

The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special
observance or holiday for atheists."

The judge said, The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day.
Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus,
it is the opinion of this court, that, if your client says there is no
God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day, Court is
adjourned.

You gotta love a Judge that knows his scripture!

Getting Started

I suppose all of the effort is worthwhile. Finally getting setup complete and hope to have something positive, encouraging and uplifting to post and blog about!
